ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Independent Chairman, Richard Garvey has been elected unopposed as President of Hawthorn Football Club.
Serving as Acting President since February 2016, it was confirmed at the club’s Annual General Meeting last night that Garvey will remain at the helm for a further 3 years.
Interviewed this morning on SEN radio Garvey noted that “I have big shoes to fill and an enormous legacy for which I have been entrusted.”
Richard spoke of his future plans for Hawthorn and stated that the leadership group are dedicated to staying competitive to ensure “the club succeeds and continues to grow.”
Discussing his own legacy Richard noted that he is a custodian for the future, steadfastly committed to ensuring the club is left in "better shape than we I took over.”
This is no mean feat considering the high benchmark set by former recent Presidents, Ian Dicker, Jeff Kennett and Andrew Newbold.
We congratulate Richard on his most recent appointment and are confident of his ongoing success.
Richard will continue in his position as Independent Chairman of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø.
