ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø, in partnership with Synnex and Van der Meer Consulting, has completed Synnex’s new purpose-built 34,922m² headquarters and distribution centre in Oakleigh South, Victoria.
Synnex is a leading ICT solutions aggregator and trusted partner in Australia and New Zealand, providing comprehensive technology distribution and logistics services to a wide network of resellers, integrators, and retailers.
This world-class facility is designed to enhance efficiency and operational capacity, incorporating state-of-the-art technology and logistics automation.
A standout feature is the towering 35-metre-high, 4,283m² highbay warehouse with an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), which plays a critical role in streamlining warehouse operations. The ASRS is equipped with automatic cranes and precision-engineered racking. More than one kilometre of conveyor belts feed from the ASRS, enabling rapid and efficient product movement across all warehouse levels. The system allows for seamless pallet retrieval at the push of a button, significantly improving storage optimisation and order fulfilment accuracy.
The expansive 25,280m² warehouse spans three identical levels, each integrated with an automated conveyor system. Pallets are fed from the ASRS onto these conveyors, which transport products via a spiral conveyor belt to the ground floor, where they are scanned and sorted into designated packing bays before dispatch.
Fire safety was a key design consideration, with the ASRS racking system fitted with an in-rack sprinkler network spanning 11 levels and more than 8,500 sprinkler heads. Supporting this is an 800,000-litre sprinkler tank—one of the largest rectangular sprinkler tanks ever built in Australia. Additionally, the entire structure has been engineered to withstand seismic activity, ensuring resilience and business continuity in the event of an earthquake.
Complementing the warehouse is an architecturally designed three-level office, comprising 975m² per floor. Originally planned as a standard workspace, the office was upgraded to include high-end finishes, custom joinery, and a central open void staircase shaped to reflect the Synnex company logo. This visually striking feature enhances the modern, open-plan design and creates strong visual cohesion across levels.
Commenting on the project’s completion, ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø’ General Manager VIC, Lorien Dalmau, said:
“We’re thrilled to see the Synnex facility reach completion. This project has been a great opportunity to leverage Vaughan’s technical expertise in highbay construction to bring the development to life. With the incorporation of such advanced equipment, this facility is designed to not only support Synnex’s continued growth but also align with their strategic vision for the future—enhancing operational efficiency and service capabilities. It has been a great collaborative effort from Synnex, Van der Meer Consulting, and the Vaughan team.”
Synnex’s new headquarters sets a benchmark for high-tech logistics and warehousing in Australia. The completion of this ambitious project further reinforces ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø’ reputation for delivering innovative, large-scale industrial developments that push the boundaries of functionality and efficiency.
